We want you to have the perfect chalet getaway...

This means we want to be clear on our policies to make sure our chalets are the right choice for your getaway. The "Things to Know" section gives an overview of the rental agreement so you are not surprised by anything in it.

Please read all the information and of our policies carefully. If you decide this is not the right place for your trip, thank you for respecting our policies and we hope we will have the opportunity to host you another time!

Chalets Hygge does require a signed rental agreement for both the security of our chalets and our guests. We use the standard short-term rental agreement provided by CITQ (Corporation de l'industrie touristique du Québec) with modifications as appropriate for our properties (amenities, neighborhood rules, etc.).

If you complete your reservation online through our booking system, you will agree to the "Rental Conditions" at the time of booking and no further action will be required.

Make sure you have read all of our rules and policies and they are a fit for your vacation.

COVID-19

Because we are in the country and close to nature our local residents such as squirrels, raccoons, and mice can be a bit more active (especially in fall and winter).  There is nothing to worry about, as it’s normal nature behavior.  We just like to be proactive with reminding our guests we are in nature and sharing some tips:

  • Our chalets are inspected & treated by an exterminator. He uses only pet/child/food-friendly treatments so there is no poison and the traps are inside boxes. Just be aware you may see the boxes in various closets and cabinets in the chalet.
  • Keep exterior doors closed as much as possible, especially the screen doors to the patio.
  • Make sure that food is put away and never leave any food outside. When we are at the chalet we keep almost everything in the refrigerator between meals.
  • Don’t leave any trash outside of the bins that are in the driveway. Make sure the lid on the outside trash bin is closed after you put the trash in.

We take all possible steps to prevent them from entering the chalet, but even with all these measures, it can happen.  On the rare occasions that it does happen, we will react immediately to help remove them and remedy the situation.  Because we take precautions and it is nature, it is important to note that we do not give refunds for the typical behavior of animals in nature.

Note: If you have an extreme fear of these animals that can prevent you from enjoying your vacation we do not recommend renting our chalets.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, we are happy to answer them.
