From cozy bistros to quaint cafes and farm-to-table restaurants, there is a diverse array of dining experiences within a few minutes of the chalets. 

While there are too many fantastic restaurants to include on our website, this page features restaurants we have tried and given 2 forks up!

We have divided the restaurants into 5 categories: Cafe, Cozy Bistros, Casual Dining, Farm-to-Table Experiences, and Special Occasions.

Cafes

Cafe Dora 

• Situated in the Village of Orford, walking from the chalets is easy!
  
• Dog-friendly terrace
  
• Menu highlights: breakfast, lunch, patisseries, barista coffee, and famous donuts!
• Hygge Recommendation: We adore Cafe Dora for its food, atmosphere, dog-friendly terrace, and best owners!

L’Atelier du Pain

• A beautifully decorated bakery that also offers Europen-style breakfast, lunch and has a large local market.
• Cozy sitting area, or take your bakery treats directly back to the chalet.
• Located in Magog.
• Menu highlights: There is nothing here that isn't divine; cheeses, fresh bread, patisseries, local meats, and decadent desserts to complement the meals of your stay.
• Hygge Recommendation: The quiche is heavenly. Bring one back to the chalet to pop into the oven for an easy meal!

Cafe Noir

• Fresh baked Monteal-style bagels baked in the bakery in wood-burning ovens.
• Situated in Magog
• Menu highlights: Bagels!  And fresh potato donuts!
• Hygge Recommendation: Get your bagels here and order donuts while you wait (maple is the best!)

Cafe Bowen

• Cafe, shop, and refreshment bar featuring local products from sustainable producers.
• Situated in the Village of Orford, walking from the chalets is easy!
• Menu highlights: Vegan options
• Hygge recommendation: Grab a lunch box as you head out for your day of adventures!

Casual Restaurants

Burger Pub

• Amazing outdoor dining on a beautiful, dog-friendly terrace
• Located in Orford with an amazing view on Mont Orford
• Menu highlights: Burgers, poutines, salads
• Hygge recommendation: We love to come here after an activity such as a hike or bike ride.

Microbrasserie La Memphrè

• Located in Magog on Lake Memphremagog
• Inside or dog-friendly terrace dining 
• Microbrewery & Restaurant
• Menu Highlights: Burgers, poutines, fondue, and salads

Deux Tomates & Canton Brasse

• The perfect pair: take away French-inspired meals or pizzas to enjoy on the terrace of our local Orford microbrew
• Located in the village of Orford
• Deux Tomates menu changes weekly, and Canton Brasse creates seasonal brews
• Hygge recommendation: For pet parents, Canton Brasse is dog-friendly inside and out

Steforno

• Pizzeria with an Italian-inspired ambiance
• Located in the village of Orford
• Menu highlights: Pizza, antipasti, cheese & charcuterie boards
• Hygge recommendation: The cheese and charcuterie boards are some of the best we have ever experienced!

Le Petit Taco (summer only)

• Mexican restaurant with summer beers and cocktails
• Located in Magog on Lake Memphremagog
• Outside terrace, dog-friendly dining
• Hygge Recommendation: Take away to go sit down and eat directly on the waterfront of the Lake

La Station Eastman & Café Bière & Co

• Outside dog-friendly terrace and garden seating with minimal indoor seating
  
• Menu highlights: Pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and patisseries.
• Located in the village of Eastman
• Hygge recommendation: We love to take the bikes from the chalets through the Route Verte in Mont Orford National Park and get a pizza and beer here.  It is approximately a 40km round trip.
  

Cozy Bistros

Bistro Koz

• A casual Mediterranean restaurant located on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, the views are beautiful any time of the year.
• Menu highlights: greek mezze, salads, dips, and Turkish pizzas.
• Reservations are recommended.
• Hygge Recommendation: Happy hour, dinner, terrace seating, inside seating...we love everything about Koz.  But the best?  Brunch.  Hands down, Sunday morning brunch.  Divine!

Four a Bois

• The warm and inviting atmosphere of an ancestral home.
• It is located in the village of Orford.
• Menu highlights: Veal pasta dishes, pizzas.
• Reservations recommended.
• Hygge recommendation: This is our "go-to" place for a night out close to the chalets.

Alessa Trattoria 

• Traditional Italian cuisine, in a lively and cozy atmosphere.
• Located on the main street in Magog, it's perfect for a day after shopping or to walk around after dinner.
• Reservations recommended.
• Hygge recommendation: While we love eating at the restaurant, Alessa is also the best delivery available in the region.

Massawippi Mercantile

• Not only a cozy cafe and bistro, it's also a community marketplace!
• Located in the village of North Hatley
• Open for breakfast and lunch every day and dinner Thursday - Saturday.
• Reservations are not required but are suggested for dinner.
• Hygge recommendation: They often have a local musician playing during the dinner service, which creates a cozy vibe.
  

Farm-to-Table Experiences (Summer Only)

Les Parcelles

• A local vegetable farm creates a weekly, fixed menu based on the farm produce that is in season.  The tables are placed amongst the gardens with amazing views of Lake Memphremagog.
• Reservations are required
• Located in the village of Austin
• Menu highlights: raw vegetable plate, two vegetable dishes, and the choice of a vegetarian pizza.  Local wine, beer, and other drinks.
• Hygge recommendation: The food is delicious, fresh, and the concept inspirational.  One of the things that we loved was the sense of community with the other guests as everyone chatted with their neighbors.

Les Cocagnes

• An agroecological collective farm in Frelighsburg.  The mission is to provide affordable access to land to small agro-producers by pooling resources.
• Located in the village of Freilighsburg.  
• There are two options for dining:
  • Summer weekends: Renowned guest chefs create menus highlighting the food produced on the community lands.  Reservations are required for the weekend seatings.
  • Summer Tuesday evenings: From 5:00 to 8:00 pm, an aperitif featuring artisanal pizzas, wines, ciders, beers, and local cocktails is open to the community. Reservations are not required for the Tuesday aperitif.
• Hygge recommendation: This will be an experience that is one of the highlights of your trip to The Eastern Townships.  While the drive is about an hour from the chalets, both the drive and the experience are beautiful!

Special Occasion

Bistro 4 Saisons 

• A sleek, simple, and refined European atmosphere with large windows and a terrace with views on Mont Orford.
• Menu highlights: French cuisine of meats, salads, desserts, and a wine connoisseurs cave.
• Reservations are highly recommended.
• Hygge Recommendation: This is where we often go to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries because it is warm and welcoming, and the food is delicious.

Tap Room at Hovey Manoir 

• Located on the grounds of Hovey Manoir, which has been named the #1 Resort Hotel in Canada multiple times, it is a treat to go here!  
• Located in the village of North Hatley.
• The Tap Room is a bistro with elevated pub fare and cocktails. Terrace seating offers beautiful views of Lake Massawippi.
• Reservations are highly recommended.
• Hygge Recommendation: The perfect location for a day or early evening date.
  

Le Hatley @ Hovey Manoir 

• Located on the grounds of Hovey Manoir, which has been named the #1 Resort Hotel in Canada multiple times, it is a treat to go here!
• Located in the village of North Hatley.
• Le Hatley is a fine dining experience based around terroir and seasonal local specialties.
• Recommendations are required.
• Hygge Recommendation: Dining at this restaurant is an experience that will be one of the highlights of your vacation, and if you have a milestone event to celebrate, we highly recommend this splurge.

Fondissimo

• The restaurant has a rustic urban vibe and is located in a converted factory in Magog.
• Menu highlights: Chinese and cheese fondue plates with traditional meat, exotic meat, and veggie options.  
• Bring your own wine.
• Reservations are strongly recommended.
• Hygge Recommendation: Perfect date night with an upbeat atmosphere.
