Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my pet to the chalet?

We love pets and understand how difficult it is to find nice accommodations that permit pets which is why our properties are pet-friendly.  Only dogs and cats are permitted at the chalets.

However, we do have rules that must be adhered to. if we find the rules are not being followed, we will have to remove the policy allowing pets. So please be respectful of our property and of future guests who would like to bring their 4-legged family member by reading the Pet Rules and only bringing only pets that comply with them.

Please tell us about any pets that you would like to bring on your trip in your reservation request and include details like breed, age, social temperament, and any other details that would be helpful to know about your 4-legged family member.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-In: Anytime after 4:00 pm

Check-Out: By 11:00 am

All of our chalets are self-check-in via a digital keypad on the entry door so you can arrive and depart on your schedule. You will receive your individual code for the keypad via e-mail, along with all the check-in instructions, the day before your arrival.

What is the cancellation policy?

Standard Cancellation Policy

  • 50% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 14 days or earlier before arrival.
  • 0% are refundable if canceled after.

COVID-19 Policy - Fall 2021 & Winter 2021 - 2022 (including holidays) - Quebec Residents*

We know many people have questions about cancellation policies due to COVID-19. We have expanded our standard cancellation policy to provide some flexibility. This expanded cancellation policy has been in place since January 2021 so all existing 2022 reservations are covered by this expanded policy.

Before making a reservation request please ensure that you have read this policy and understand your responsibility as the renter. As soon as we accept a reservation request, the cancellation policies are in effect.

Expanded COVID policy:

  • This expanded policy applies to Quebec Residents only.
  • We will honor a 100% cancellation policy less credit card processing fees* if the government implements a regulation that prevents you from coming to the chalet between the time you book your stay and your stay begins. Exemptions apply; see the What is Not Covered section below for these exemptions.

For example, if you book your stay at a time when inter-regional travel is permitted and the rules are changed before the date of your stay to disallow inter-regional travel, we would refund 100% of your stay (less credit card processing fees*) or allow you to move your reservation to a later date, whichever you prefer.

*We incur credit card processing fees which we absorb into the cost of our reservations. If you are required to cancel your reservation under the COVID policy we will refund all fees with the exception of the credit card processing fees that we have incurred. This will help us to offset the expense we incur and allow us to offer this COVID refund policy.

What is not covered under our expanded COVID policy:

The risk of acquiring COVID is a known risk to travel and it is the responsibility of the traveler to purchase travel insurance related to any losses from the following items. The standard cancellation policy applies in any of these scenarios.

  • Residents outside of Quebec. Non-Quebec residents, please contact us for COVID-19 cancellation policies as this is subject to change based on current provincial government requirements.
  • If the primary renter or members of your group are unable to travel due to having COVID.
  • Closing of local businesses and activities due to government regulations or other COVID related reasons.
  • Due to the possibility of changes regarding family bubbles, we will not issue refunds outside of the standard cancellation policy for reservations with more than 1 family bubble. If you plan a trip for a future date that involves more than 1 family bubble, and the government changes the regulations to only allow 1 family bubble per residence the standard cancellation policy applies.

Is the chalet equipped with good wi-fi?

All of the chalets are equipped with Bell Fibe WiFi, which is the best we can get in the region. We work remotely regularly from the chalets (and have many guests that do) and the connection is able to support our connections.

What supplies do I need to bring to the chalet?

We want to make vacationing as easy as possible so we provide as many everyday household items as we can.  So before you start packing your house for vacation, take a look at our amenities to see what is included with your rental by clicking here.

Oh, and if you have any suggestions on additional items we should include, please tell us so we can consider adding it!

Is firewood provided?

During winter, we attempt to keep the firewood and fire starters as a courtesy to our guests. However, they are not a term of the rental. If any of these items are out of stock at the chalet they can generally be found most grocery stores, depanneurs, or general stores. Feel free to ask us about the availability of firewood at the chalet you are renting.

During the summer months (April/May - October/November), firewood is not provided.

Is parking included?

Each chalet comes with a designated number of parking places (see each chalet description for the number) which is sufficient for the capacity of the chalet.

  • Parking on the road is not permitted at any time.
  • Don’t park in the yard.
  • Don’t use the neighbor's driveways.

What type of TV access is available at the chalet?

All of our chalets have flat-screen smart TV's.  None of the chalets are equipped with cable or satellite TV, but all chalets have access to Netflix.

Is there wildlife at the chalet such as racoons and mice?

Because we are in the country and close to nature our local residents such as squirrels, raccoons, and mice can be a bit more active (especially in fall and winter). There is nothing to worry about, as it’s normal nature behavior. We just like to be proactive with reminding our guests we are in nature and sharing some tips:

  • Our chalets are inspected & treated by an exterminator. He uses only pet/child/food-friendly treatments so there is no poison and the traps are inside boxes. Just be aware you may see the boxes in various closets and cabinets in the chalet.
  • Keep exterior doors closed as much as possible, especially the screen doors to the patio.
  • Make sure that food is put away and never leave any food outside. When we are at the chalet we keep almost everything in the refrigerator between meals.
  • Don’t leave any trash outside of the bins that are in the driveway. Make sure the lid on the outside trash bin is closed after you put the trash in.

We take all possible steps to prevent them from entering the chalet, but it can happen and we will react immediately to help remove them. Because we take precautions and it is nature, it is important to note that we do not give refunds for the typical behavior of animals in nature.
