Maintaining our hygge

One of the best parts about our chalets is that they are located in the very charming Cheribourg neighborhood. The Cheribourg neighborhood is perfect for adopting a slower pace of life while soaking up nature. Keeping with the neighborhood's ambiance, we have rules in place to protect our guests, chalets, and neighbors.

As part of the booking process, you will agree to these terms:

Absolutely no smoking of any type.

The chalet is inspected immediately upon checkout and any trace of smoking is immediately identifiable to the proceeding guests.

Any additional cleaning required by the presence of smoking will result in the additional cost being automatically deducted from the deposit.

Chalets Hygge is 100% party fee.

We totally understand that life is full of good reasons to celebrate with a party (in fact, we love a fun party, but in the appropriate place).  The "No Party" and quiet rules are enforced at all times.

  • We have a zero-tolerance policy that will result in immediate eviction from the property without a refund and the Lessee will be 100% responsible for additional cleaning costs and all damage incurred.
  • Guests must abide by reasonable rules of conduct and not to disturb neighbors or other residents. Please keep noise to a reasonable level, both inside and outside of the chalet.  Quiet hours are between 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM.
  • Guests must agree not to use any premises other than those rented and to respect the property of neighbors and other residents.

Safety & Security: Community quiet hours are between 11:00 pm and 7:00 AM. However, the Cheribourg is a tranquil neighborhood, and out of respect for our wonderful neighbors (seriously, we love our neighbors), we expect our guests to behave accordingly and keep the noise volume reasonable.

To protect the tranquility of our neighborhood (because we genuinely love our neighbors), our property, and the safety of our guests, we use 2 types of property monitoring:

  • Noise Level: Each chalet is equipped with a noise monitoring device called Noise Aware. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations; it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels) and sends alerts passing a specific threshold. The decibel monitoring sensors are located inside and outside of the home. Removing the decibel monitors will result in a complete loss of the security deposit.
  • Chalet Capacity & Security: Each chalet has a camera facing the driveway. The camera angle is not pointed toward any areas inside the chalet or patio, so there's no need to worry about privacy.  The camera helps us to ensure that our chalets are secure when they are not occupied and that the capacity & parking rules of the chalet are being adhered to. Disabling or removing the driveway camera will result in a complete security deposit loss.

The Lessee must be 25 years or older and must be present during the stay.

  • The Lessee is responsible for the actions of any other person on the rental premises.
  • Only registered guests that are included on the reservation are permitted to stay at the chalet.
  • Please ensure that the correct number of guests is reflected in your reservation request.
  • Visitors must be approved in advance. For example, hosting a dinner or BBQ in which guests other than those included on the reservation will attend must be approved.

Broken Items: We realize that sometimes accidents happen; it's part of life.  We also expect that our guests will treat our chalets and items in them with care and respect.

  • Please let us know about any broken or damaged items during your stay.  Minor broken items are part of renting, and we don't charge our guests for them.  But any material damage in or to the chalet during the rental period caused by the guest is the guest's responsibility and must be reimbursed to Chalets Hygge.
  • Guests agree to respect the rental premises and leave them in the same condition as when they were rented. Furniture and objects for guests' use must be handled with care and used only for their intended purposes.

Outdoor sporting equipment is not allowed in the house as it can ruin the floors. Since we know so many people come to enjoy outdoor activities, we do provide outside cabins with locks to store your equipment in. Guests are responsible for the security of their items, and the chalet owners are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Remove shoes inside, as outside elements can accelerate wear and tear on the floors.

Park only in the designated chalet driveway.  Each chalet driveway will accommodate between 2 to 3 cars which is sufficient for the chalet's capacity.

  • Parking on the road is not permitted at any time.
  • Don’t park in the yard.
  • Don’t use the neighbor's driveways.
