9 unique experiences in The Eastern Townships

Local Experiences > 9 Unique Experiences in the Eastern Townships

Every chance we get, we like to experience The Eastern Townships ourselves.  You will find some of the region's favorite and most unique activities on this page.

We have handpicked these activities and given them the Chalets Hygge (or Kerri & Philippe) stamp of approval!  As we experience more of these unique experiences our region offers, we will share them with you.

Note: Many of these activities are seasonal, so make sure to check the websites for opening hours and reservation requirements.

Bleu Lavande

Take a trip to the lavender fields, transport yourself to Provence, and bring home a treat from their lavender boutique!

At these dog-friendly lavender fields, you can bring a picnic, take beautiful photos (filter not required!), experience a massage in the lavender fields, tour the immersive lavender experience by Moment Factory, or attend one of their many special events.

Hygge Perk: Our guests get 20% off of the entry ticket price!

Foresta Lumina

Whether or not you have already experienced a fantastic multi-media light show by the innovative Quebec company Moment Factory, this is an experience like none other.

A night-illuminated pathway that starts with crossing the largest suspended footbridge in North America and brings to life a mythological Quebec story that takes you on a journey through the Coaticook Canyon Gorge is an experience that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world.

Reserving tickets online is strongly recommended.

Chalet Hygge Recommendation: We take all our family and friends when they visit us because it is such a unique experience.  We never get tired of it because it is updated annually and it is always an awe-inspiring experience.

Escapades Memphrémagog

Experience our gorgeous Lake Memphremagog, the surrounding mountain landscapes, and views of Abbaye Saint Benoit-du-Lac from the water.

With the choice of a bubbly hour cruise, a 3-course brunch, or a 3-course dinner cruise, you can pick the experience that best suits you.  But since we have done all 3 of them, we can tell you there is no wrong choice.  All three options feature live music from a local musician that takes the relaxing cruise vibe up a notch.

Check the full calendar and book your cruise on the Escapades Memphremagog website.

Sabering in the Vineyard

Sabrage: A technique for opening a champagne bottle with a saber, used for ceremonial occasions.

And what better event is there to celebrate than a vacation?

In the heart of the vineyard of Le Cep d'Argent, learn the art of sabering with a bottle of their bubbly blanc or rose. Then, sit back and relax while you enjoy your sparkling wine and the breathtaking scenery.  We recommend bringing along a charcuterie and cheese platter!

Giant Zipline + Zipline Rollercoaster

Calling all adrenaline junkies!

Mont Sutton has not only a 1 km long zipline but it's also got the biggest incline in Canada.  Still want to take it to the next level?  They also have the only roller coaster zipline in North America.  Yup, a roller coaster zipline.  And it's as fun, scream, and laugh-inducing as you imagine it is.

Check out their website for all the conditions and must-know details to ensure it is a good fit for your group.  We can say we had one of the best days with our god-children here!

A Real Farm-to-Table Dining Experience

Les Cocagnes is an agroecological collective farm located in the village of Frelighsburg. Their mission is to provide affordable access to land to small agro-producers by pooling resources.

Summer weekends: Renowned guest chefs create menus highlighting the food produced on the community lands.  Reservations are required for the weekend seatings.

Summer Tuesday evenings: From 5:00 to 8:00 pm, an aperitif featuring artisanal pizzas, wines, ciders, beers, and local cocktails is open to the community. Reservations are not required for the Tuesday aperitif.

This will be an experience that is one of the highlights of your trip to The Eastern Townships. While the drive is about an hour from the chalets, both the drive and the experience are beautiful!
